IALA Presents the Emerging Writers Showcase

Join us for our first-of-its-kind virtual reading to highlight the works of emerging Armenian writers on September 25, 2021, at 10 am Pacific / 1 pm Eastern / 9 pm Yerevan time, hosted by Shahé Mankerian.

The event will feature readings by the mentees in IALA’s inaugural mentorship program, and the winners of IALA’s 2021 Young Armenian Poets Awards. Mentors will introduce their mentees, and Alan Semerdjian, the director of the Young Armenian Poets Awards, will introduce the contest winners. 

Mentees include Nayiri Baboudjian Bouchkjian, Araxie Cass, Lilit Markosian, Elizabeth Mkhitarian, Peter Hajinian, Tatevik Ayvazyan, Sophia Armen, Nyree Abrahamian, Elise Youssoufian, Arthur Kayzakian, and Perla Kantardjian. Click here to read more about our mentees.

The winners of the Young Armenian Poets Awards will be announced on September 23, 2021, alongside their winning poems, in H-Pem magazine.
