The Blooms That Fall by Angelina Der Arakelian-Dennington

We are all blooms in motion, opening, flourishing, fading, and beginning again with each passing season.

In The Blooms That Fall, poet and author Angelina Der Arakelian-Dennington invites readers on a lyrical journey through the changing seasons of both nature and the human heart. Moving through spring’s tender awakenings, summer’s radiant passions, autumn’s quiet surrender, and winter’s reflective silences, this collection explores the universal experiences of love, loss, longing, healing, transformation, and renewal. Inspired by the profound parallels between the natural world and our inner lives, these poems reflect on the beauty of impermanence and the wisdom found within change. Just as flowers bloom and fall, relationships evolve, dreams shift, identities transform, and every ending carries the possibility of a new beginning.

Accompanied by enchanting illustrations inspired by folklore, fairy tales, and the timeless wonder of the natural world, The Blooms That Fall offers an immersive reading experience that invites readers to slow down, reflect, and reconnect with life’s rhythms. Perfect for those who love nature poetry, spiritual reflection, and emotionally resonant verse, this collection serves as a gentle reminder that no season lasts forever, and that beauty can be found not only in blooming, but also in letting go.

Angelina Der Arakelian-Dennington is an award-winning author, poet, screenwriter, and journalist at The Armenian Weekly. Inspired by her Armenian and Lebanese heritage, ancestral memory, nature, spirituality, and the mysteries of time, her work explores the connections between history, identity, healing, and the unseen forces that shape our lives. Her debut novel, A Week in Berlin, is a genre-bending historical fantasy and time-travel romance inspired by real events. Blending the Armenian Genocide with speculative fiction, the novel explores trauma, love across time, and humanity’s enduring desire to heal the past. Its screenplay adaptation received the Best Sci-Fi Screenplay award at the World Film Festival in Cannes. Angelina is also the author of the poetry collections When Moonlight Falls: Heartfelt Notes from a Curious Mind-Traveler, a lyrical meditation on life and existence; A Glimpse of Eternity, which blends existential poetry with science fiction; and The Blooms That Fall, an illustrated collection celebrating nature, transformation, and renewal. When she’s not writing, Angelina can usually be found listening to the sounds of nature, reading, or immersing herself in the rich world of film.
